About GREENGUARD Gold Certification
GREENGUARD Gold Certification is one of the most recognized standards for low chemical emissions and indoor air quality. Products that carry this certification have been tested and scientifically proven to meet some of the world’s most rigorous chemical emission standards — helping reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure.
Originally developed by UL Environment, the GREENGUARD Gold standard considers safety factors for sensitive individuals, such as children and the elderly, and ensures that certified products contribute to healthier indoor environments.
To achieve GREENGUARD Gold Certification, products must:
- Meet strict limits for over 360 volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
- Undergo independent laboratory testing and ongoing compliance monitoring
- Contribute to cleaner indoor air and qualify for points under LEED® and other sustainable building programs
